ACTING COURSE: SHAKESPEARE'S LOVERS AT STRATFORD UPON AVON

A course for those with a love of acting who may have little or no experience of playing Shakespeare, but who would relish a chance to explore - under expert guidance - his wonderful imagination and magical language. This is an opportunity to experience working on some of his remarkable characters during the day, and of course the world-famous Royal Shakespeare Company can be seen at work in the evenings at their home base just five minutes' walk away.

THE COST OF THE WORKSHOP COURSE works out at a very reasonable £70 per day for 5 full days of classes and rehearsal.

The workshops and presentation will take place in pleasant, well-appointed rehearsal rooms right in the centre of Stratford upon Avon, close to the garden at Shakespeare’s house, New Place.

The teaching is supervised by ELLIS JONES, former Vice Principal and Head of Actor Training at Britain’s most celebrated acting school, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Each day will include workshops in voice, movement and scene rehearsal with professional movement director CHRISTOPHER LANE, with actor-director LOIS BAXTER, and with REBECCA CUTHBERTSON, a voice coach whose busy schedule over the last couple of years has included tutoring Royal Shakespeare Company actors at Stratford and on tour.

The course will include a tour of the new and refurbished RSC theatres, and there will be opportunities to meet with actors from the company and other expert professional practitioners.
